improvvisare

Twan was selected by “trend guru” Li Edelkoort as one of the ten young Design Academy Eindhoven graduates to participate in a group-expo in Milano, Italy during the design fair. The theme was "improvisation". The whole project was organised in a “Big Brother” kind of setting: three weeks of sleeping, living and creating in one apartment, using waste materials, sometimes under high pressure in the team and cameras.

Twan's contribution consisted of paper jackets (made from Milan fashion brand brochures: Cavalli, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, etc.), a reception desk desk (made from Design Academy Eindhoven's catalogues) and vases (replica's from the Milan boutiques but then made from cheap foam blocks).

The expo was a big success. Many visitors attended the show and we were even mentioned in the New York Times.
